%X This article aims to analyze the flow of water depths for the city of São João Batista in the Baixada Maranhense region, being held by a historical series of remote sensing products, obtaining as a consequence a laminar amplitude and environmental dynamics. The development of this research consisted of primary and secondary schools and through images of Landsat, purchased the years 2001 to 2013 sources, the technique of digital image processing (principal component analysis) and supervised automatic classification being used. The study outcome was satisfactory, since large expanses of territory of São João Batista offers a wide scale of floodplain and wetland, which through environmental management since the municipality can use space to foster public policies, using the environment in a sustainable manner as a source of income for the population.
